Legend Harrow Jack
Every harvest needs a final cut.
They say the old Harrow place stopped producing years before anybody noticed Jack was gone. The crops came up wrong. Pumpkins split on the vine. Animals stopped going near the barn after dark. By October, the only light left on the property was an old lantern moving through the rows long after midnight.
Most folks figured Jack had finally lost his mind. Then people started disappearing.
Nothing dramatic. No screaming from the fields. No bodies left behind. Just an abandoned truck on the shoulder, muddy footprints leading toward the corn, and sometimes a jack-o-lantern sitting where the person had last been seen.
Nobody knows who carved them. Nobody wants to know.
The farmhouse eventually burned, the land went wild, and the county stopped maintaining the road that ran beside it. But every October, the lantern comes back.
Some say Jack still walks the property looking for trespassers. Others say he isn't guarding the farm anymore.
He's harvesting.
